Jazz Band

There are two Jazz bands offering opportunity to play at Coon Rapids High School

Jazz 1 is a smaller ensemble of musicians. This band is by audition only and play at several concerts at the High School, Middle School and in the community throughout the year. They practice approximately twice weekly starting after Halloween, and continuing through May.

Jazz 2 is a larger ensemble of musicians. Anyone in 2 trimesters of band can join. It is a great opportunity to try out another instrument. Jazz 2 is largely student led. Students pick the music for and conduct the Jazz 2 program. Jazz 2 performs at the CRHS Jazz festival in March, where they join Jazz 1, and the CRMS 7th and 8th graders. Jazz 2 meets on average 3-4 times per month from January to March to practice together after school.
